ahoy!

Well, hey there. We just got back from Boca Raton today. It was quite a nice little trip, we stayed at a brand new resort on the beach and did a glorious whole lot of nothing and it was exactly what I needed. Evan brought his friend Wes, Annie brought Chelsea and of course Kylie came along too...there were lots of us which made for much fun (Evan and Wes being the difficult ones). Just kidding. Seriously. Anyway, it was a super long weekend (thanks, mom!) and now I'm back in New York with a bizarre sunburn, my freckles out in full force and back at work again.

Today I had this strange explosion of creativity. After a day of hunting around, writing and thinking up ideas I can say that I have a couple of really exciting forthcoming projects. More details later. I FINALLY went to Topshop on Broadway and Broome...I've been avoiding it since it's opening because I've been intimidated by the mobs of Kate Moss wannabes and I'm sad to report that its was generally unimpressive. It really just looks like an expensive H&M, and granted I didn't try anything on or buy anything I'm not one to judge, but there was just nothing I was dying to have EXCEPT they do sell Office shoes (amazing London based brand) and a pair of silver sequin covered leggings. As I expected there were tons of model-esque pre-teens and a few grandmas sitting on the benches in the front of the store and I did spot Angela Simmons (Rev Run's daughter in case you don't watch Run's House) trying on a pair of grey patent platforms in the "shoe lounge".

There are some really great shows coming up soon...but I'm especially excited for Ratatat next week. I'm going to try to make it to the theatre to see the new documentary, Valentino: The Last Emperor this week too. I like being a fashion nerd.

Au revoir for now!
